Installation Guide

The contents and purposes:
a. System patch files (for OSR2.5/OSR1)
mtxc.inf: Let Windows 95 recognize Intel PIIX4, 430TX, 440BX, and then Windows 95 can load the relative drivers.
mtxchdc.inf: Let Windows 95 recognize Intel 82371AB IDE BUS Master Controller, and then Windows 95 can load the relative drivers.

b. USB patch files (for OSR2.5)
newusb.inf: Let Windows 95 recognize Intel 82371AB USB, and then Windows 95 can load relative drivers.

c. PC Card patch files (for OSR2.5)
cardbus.inf: Let Windows 95 recognize TI TI1250,TI1251 PC Card controller and load its drivers.
pci.vxd, cbss.vxd, configmg.vxd, pccard.vxd: The virtual drivers of TI1250,TI1251.

d. IR patch files (for OSR2.5)
msports.inf, msirport.inf, infrared.inf: Let Windows 95 recognize Built-in Infrared port.

How to install:

-How to install Windows 95 Service Pack 1 (OSR1)

1. Install Windows 95 until first restart.
2. Before restart to Windows 95, press F8 and choose "Command prompt only" mode to enter DOS mode.
3. Copy system patch files from Windows 95 Supplement File Diskette to a Windows directory. From the command prompt,
3-1. Type "CD C:\WINDOWS\INF", and press Enter key. (or INF subdirectory under the directory where Windows 95 installed)
3-2. Type "COPY A:\SYSTEM\*.*", and press Enter key.
4. Type "WIN" to load Windows 95 to initialize the system. Follow the instructions on the screen.
5. Shutdown and restart the computer.
6. Enable PC Card controller.
6-1. Click on "Start".
6-2. Select "Settings" and click on "Control Panel".
6-3. Double click on "System" and click on "Device Manager" tab.
6-4. Double click on the 1st "PCIC compatible PCMCIA controller".
6-5. Remove the mark on "Disable in this hardware profile" option.
6-6. Double click on the 2nd "PCIC compatible PCMCIA controller".
6-7. Remove the mark on "Disable in this hardware profile" option.
7. Shut down and restart the computer. Follow the instructions on the screen.

-How to install Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2.5 (OSR2.5)

1. Install Windows 95 until first restart.
2. Before restart to Windows 95, press F8 and choose "Command prompt only" mode to enter DOS mode.
3. Copy system patch and PC Card patch files from Windows 95 Supplement File Diskette to a Windows directory. From the command prompt,
3-1. Type "CD C:\WINDOWS\INF", and press Enter key. (or INF subdirectory under the directory where Windows 95 installed)
3-2. Type "COPY A:\SYSTEM\*.*", and press Enter key.
3-3. Type "COPY A:\PCMCIA\*.INF", and press Enter key.
4. Copy PC Card patch files from Windows 95 Supplement File Diskette to another Windows directory. From the command prompt,
4-1. Type "CD C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM", and press Enter key. (or SYSTEM subdirectory under the directory where Windows 95 installed)
4-2. Type "REN PCI.VXD PCI.VVV", and press Enter key.
4-3. Type "REN PCCARD.VXD PCCARD.VVV", and press Enter key.
4-4. Type "COPY A:\PCMCIA\*.VXD", and press Enter key.
5. Type "WIN" to load Windows 95 to initialize the system. Follow the instructions on the screen.
6. Before installing USB drivers, please execute the upgrading program of USB, "USBSUPP.EXE", which is provided by Microsoft Windows 95 CD.
Type "src_cd:\OTHER\USB\USBSUPP.EXE", and press Enter key. src_cd: Driver letter of CD-ROM drive (e.g. C, D,..)7. Shut down and restart Windows 95.
8. Before restarting Windows 95, press F8 and choose "Command prompt only" mode to enter DOS mode.
9. Copy USB patch files from Windows 95 Supplement File Diskette to a Windows directory. From the command prompt,
9-1. Type "CD C:\WINDOWS\INF", and press Enter key. (or INF subdirectory under the directory where Windows 95 installed)
9-2. Type "COPY "COPY A:\USB\*.*", and press Enter key.
9-3. Type "WIN" start Windows 95.
10. Enable PC Card Controller.
10-1. Click on "Start".
10-2. Select "Settings" and click on "Control Panel".
10-3. Double click on "System" and click on "Device Manager" tab.
10-4. Double click the 1st "Texas Instruments PCI-1250,1251 CardBus Controller".
10-5. Remove the mark on "Disable in this hardware profile" option.
10-6. Double click the 2nd "Texas Instruments PCI-1250,1251 CardBus Controller".
10-7. Remove the mark on "Disable in this hardware profile" option.
11. Shut down and restart the computer. Follow the instructions on the screen.

-How to install IR for Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2.5 (OSR2.5)

1. Start Windows 95.
2. Copy IR patch files from Windows 95 Supplement File Diskette to a Windows directory. From the command prompt,
2-1. Type "CD C:\WINDOWS\INF", and press Enter key. (or INF subdirectory under the directory where Windows 95 installed)
2-2. Type "COPY A:\IR\*.*", and press Enter key.
3. Click on "Start".
4. Select "Settings" and click on "Control Panel".
5. Double click on "System" and click on "Device Manager" tab.
6. Double click "Infrared", and select "Built-in Infrared port on laptop or desktop". Click on "Remove".
7. Click on "Refresh" and follow the instructions on the screen.
8. Restart Windows 95.
