Aptiva - Rapid Resume and OS/2
Applicable to: United States
If you ever reload your entire system and have problems with Rapid Resume, try the following steps.
To run Rapid Resume, you will need to use the BOOT command to switch from OS/2 Warp to DOS.
1.) Close any programs that you are currently using in OS/2 Warp.
2.) From the LaunchPad, point to the OS/2 Window object, and click the left mouse button.
- An OS/2 command prompt appears.
3.) At the command prompt, type: BOOT /DOS then hit <ENTER>.
4.) When you are asked if you want to continue, type: Y (for yes) and press <Enter>. A message tells you the hard disk is being prepared. When this process is complete, the IBM blue logo screen appears.
(Note: If the Aptiva welcome screen appears, click on Go to Windows. The Program Manager window will appear.)
5.) The Program Manager window appears. Close Program Manager. The blue Aptiva menu appears.
6.) Click on item 2 - Go to DOS prompt, and press Enter. A DOS prompt appears.
7.) At the DOS prompt, type: PS1TOOLS\PS1PFILE.EXE hit <Enter>.
8.) To switch to OS/2 Warp, type: OS2\BOOT /OS2 press <Enter>
A message asks if you want to continue, type: Y (for yes) and hit <Enter>.
The OS/2 Warp Desktop appears. You are now ready to use Rapid Resume.
