Aptiva - 2158 Considerations - Ring Central unable to find modem in initial setup

Description:

Ring Central does not find modem upon initial setup. At the Ring Central Modem Detection screen, there is an X crossing out the "Rockwell HCF 56K Modem.

Models affected:
2158


How to duplicate:
1. Run RingCentral for the first time.
2. Setup process is run.
3. If the red cross appears over the phone, this is the problem. The modem was not detected.


Root cause:
The modem driver didn't have enough time to detect the modem, RingCentral receives the information as modem is not active.


Workaround:
If the modem was not detected (red crossed):
1. Push the Refresh button.
2. The same window will appear with the modem detected and active.
3. Continue with the setup process.
