Software
Windows 95 diskettes (retail version)
Adaptec SCSI device drivers from the Ready-to-Configure Utility Program CD provided with your computer (SCSI systems only). Use Diskette Factory to create the diskette.
Go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/software/servpak1/sphome.htm and download Service Pack 1 for Windows 95.
Click on the links below to obtain the following files from the IBM File Repository:
PIIX4.EXE - PIIX4 patch (INF files)
Z23T11A.EXE - Bus Master IDE driver (or a later version)

You will use the diskettes for the driver installation procedures.
Note: The IBM Web site contains the latest versions of the preceding files.
With the exception of the PIIX4 patch, earlier versions of the preceding files are also on the Ready-to-Configure Utility Program CD.

NOTES
When you have completed these instructions, there are two areas of conflict:
In Device Manager under Hard Disk Controllers, Second Bus Master IDE Controller is listed with a ! beside it. This is because you do not have anything connected to the secondary channel.
In Device Manager under Other, PCI Card is listed. This listing is actually the integrated Universal Serial Bus device provided with your computer which is not supported by the retail version of Windows 95 that you installed. Although it shows as an area of conflict, it does not interfere with the operation of your system.
This concludes the installation.
