Aptiva - 2158/2163 Removals and replacements - Bay 2

Bay 2 - 5.25-In. Bay (Internal or External Access)

NOTE: If the hard disk drive is 3.5-in. and its capacity is over 10GB, it is then secured to an adapter tray to bay 2. This reduces any acoustic interference.

1. Disconnect any cable on the hard drive (note location and orientation of cables).
   
2. Remove the screws.
   
3. Remove the adapter tray with attached HDD.

1. To remove the hard disk drive from the adapter tray, remove the four shoulder screws on the underside of the tray.
   
2. Four cushion rings are used to minimize the acoustic interference. To remove the cushion rings, slide and lift.

ATTENTION: When installing the hard disk drive, the cushion rings and shoulder screws must be used to secure the hard disk to the tray.
