How do I get my CD-ROM to work in DOS mode with the D011V200 driver (Ambra 3000)?

Follow the steps below:

For this operation you will need:

The Windows 95 start-up disk

To install the CD ROM in DOS mode

1. Start Windows 95.
3. Click on Start, Run and type SYSEDIT then click on OK.
5. At this point you will see a number of windows that will be open on the screen.
7. The first one you will see will be the autoexec.bat file.
9. You must add the following line:

2. C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\MSCDEX /D:MSCD001 /M:12 /L:D

   
   
   1. When this line has been added in click on the X in the upper right of the AUTOEXEC.BAT window to close the AUTOEXEC.BAT file.
   3. Windows will ask you if you wish to save the changes, you click on YES.
   5. You will then see the CONFIG.SYS file.
   7. Add in the following line:

   9. DEVICE=C:\DEV\D011V200.SYS /D:MSCD001 /N:1

      
      
      1. When this line has been added in click on the X in the upper right of the CONFIG.SYS window to close the config.sys file.
      3. Windows will ask you if you wish to save the changes, you click on YES.
      5. You can then close all the rest of the windows, including the System Configuration Editor.
      7. When done, click on Start, Shutdown, Restart the Computer in MS DOS Mode then click on YES.
      9. In DOS you will see C:\WINDOWS>.
      11. Type "CD \" then press Enter.
      13. Type "MD DEV" then press Enter.
      15. Type "CD DEV" then press Enter.
      17. Insert the Windows 95 start up disk.
      19. Type "A:" and press Enter.
      21. Type "CD AMBRA" and press Enter.
      23. Type "COPY *.* C:\DEV" and press Enter.
      25. When back at the A:\AMBRA prompt, type "C:" and press Enter.
      27. Remove the start up diskette.
      29. Type "EXIT" and press Enter.
      31. When back in Windows click on Start, Shutdown, Restart the Computer, then click YES.
      33. When the system restarts you will have the CD ROM in DOS mode.
