Aptiva - MS Mail loses connection

Problem:
Mwave Modem is incompatible w/Mail Remote Client. This applies to versions 3.2, 3.2a and 3.5 of Microsoft Mail Remote.
Explanation:
This information is from the Microsoft TechNet CD. In the article it states that the Mwave software runs in Ring 3, Microsoft Mail Remote runs in Ring 1. This gives MS-Mail priority over the operation of the Mwave modem. This explains the symptoms observed.
Possible Fix:
A workaround is given. The user may edit MSMAIL.INI. Under (SFSREMOTE), add the line "Exclusive=0". They do state that the user should not perform any task switching while connected as the carrier may be dropped or the mail message file may be corrupted.
