Aptiva - How to set Appearance Scheme to Windows Standard
Applicable to: World-Wide
Windows 95 or 98 allows the modification of most aspects of the desktop appearance. Windows also makes it easy to reset these values to their default settings by providing a 'Windows Standard' appearance scheme. The following steps for resetting the desktop to the Windows Standard scheme apply to all Aptiva systems running Windows 95.
1. From the Windows 95 or 98 desktop, click "Start" -> "Settings" -> "Control Panel" then double-click the "Display" icon.
2. The "Display Properties" window will open. Click the "Appearance" tab.
3. Click the arrow to the right of the "Scheme" box, and select "Windows Standard" from the drop-down list box. Note that there are also choices for Windows Standard schemes that use large, and extra large fonts and icons.
4. Once the Scheme has been changed back to Windows Standard, click "OK" to close the Display Properties box. The changes will take effect immediately.
