Question:
What are some tips when using PFS WindowWorks version 2 on my Aptiva 2144/2168?
Answers:
Tip 1. Word Processor can not wrap words properly, the margins and spell check are not right, or the tails of g's, j's, y's are flashing.
Remove the generic printer driver in Windows and install the recommended printer driver for your printer. To do this, double-click on "ACCESSORIES". Find the "CONTROL PANEL" icon and double-click it. Once it is opened find the "PRINTERS" icon and open it up. Find "PS1 Generic Printer" under Installed Printers. Click on it once to highlight it. Now click on the "DELETE" button. Next install your printer driver as suggested by your printer manufacturer.
Tip 2. Chartmaker does not print correctly.
Create your chart in "Chartmaker" and then choose "EDIT" and select "COPY". Open up a Word Processing document and choose "EDIT" and then select "PASTE". There will be a square cursor on the screen. Hold down the left mouse button and drag the mouse down and it will make a square. The size of the square determines the size of the chart on the screen and print job. Release the left mouse button and the chart will appear. It will print fine from the word processor assuming you have the correct printer driver installed.
Tip 3. Saving documents in MSWorks for Windows or other file formats.
There is no provision to save Word Processing documents in MSWorks format. However, if you plan to take
your document to a machine with MSWorks on it, you can Save the document in MSWord 2.0 for Windows format. This will
ensure that MSWorks can open it without loosing any formatting information. To do this click on "FILE" and select
"SAVE AS". Next, click on the "FILE TYPES" box and select MSWord 2.0 for Windows. Give the document a name and click "OK" to save it.
