PS/1- 2168 System Board Revision
Applicable to: World-Wide
Symptom:
A small number of PS/1 2168-686 System Boards (P/N 73G0806) require rework and a BIOS upgrade. All the Model 2168-686 system serial numbers starting with 55GP, followed by four/five zeros, before the serial number proper.
If this section starts with an '8' the system was built with a down level coded EEPROM and the system board should be replaced.
If the digit is a '9' the upgraded board has been installed and no action is required.
