Aptiva - 2158/2163/2164 Considerations - Incorrect diskette drive message

Description:
Incorrect floppy disk message appears in Windows 98\My Computer after disabling onboard floppy controller in the BIOS setup and resetting resource assignments.
Models affected:
2158, 2163, and 2164
How to duplicate:
1. Disable 'Onboard Floppy Controller in the BIOS setup.
2. Change 'Reset Resource Assignments' settings to 'Yes'.
3. Reboot system to Windows 98 OS.
4. Click on 'My Computer' icon on the desktop.
5. Disk A shows incorrect messages as 'Removable Disk'.
Root Cause:
Unknown. V66XA and V72MA exhibit the same behavior. Suspect it might be a Windows 98 limitation.
