Color Flatbed Scanner - Error locating device when running Windows NT
Applicable to: World-Wide
Symptom:
Running Windows NT, an error stating that 'the IBM scanner service ended abnormally' occurs when re-starting the system. When checking the event viewer, it states 'IBM Scanner failed to start, could not locate the device'.
Analysis:
On a Windows 95 system, the error did not occur. On an dual boot system, the port was set to 3BCH Mode; Standard; IRQ:7.
Resolution:
Change the port to 378H mode; Extended EPP; IRQ:7, and the error should go away. This issue will be dealt with in upcoming driver fixes.
