Aptiva - 2140/2142 Considerations - HW MPEG2

Wing Commander IV (DVD Version) doesn't work. Detail: When trying to play "Wing Commander IV", there is no video. Answer / Workaround: This is an OEM-version of the DVD title which was designed to work with a different MPEG-2 decoder board. This title will not work at this time with the STB MPEG-2 board we have in our systems. Severity: 4 Preload(s): Both

Video window is PINK. Detail: This is due to the ATI VPM drivers not being loaded or the AMC cable (10pin cable from HWMPEG2 card to the planar w/RED stripe) being disconnected. Answer / Workaround: ReInstall the MPEG2 drivers and/or reseat the AMC cable. Severity: 4 Preload(s): Both

Video window is GREEN. Detail: The ATI VPM drivers are working, but something in the drivers has corrupted. Answer / Workaround: Reinstall MPEG drivers. Severity: 4 Preload(s): Both

How is MPEG1 handled on this system? Detail: The HW MPEG2 board is set to only decode MPEG-2 video. MPEG-1 video is handled as it is by the planar video chip as normal using the default Microsoft ActiveMovie decoder. Answer / Workaround: This is just an FYI. Severity: 4 Preload(s): Both
