PS/1 - Protecting some or all of the data in a spreadsheet

You can protect some or all of the cells in a Microsoft Works for Windows version 2.0 Spreadsheet from change with the Protect Data command. Below is a description of how to use Protect Data to protect specific data in a spreadsheet.

Protecting All Data:
From the Options menu, choose Protect Data. A check mark will appear on the menu next to Protect Data if this option is on.

Protecting Some of the Data:
1. Make sure Protect Data is turned off in the Options menu.

2. Press CTRL + HOME (press the CTRL key and the HOME key simultaneously).

3. Press CTRL + SHIFT + END.

4. From the Format menu, choose Style. Deselect the Locked check box.

5. Select the cells to be protected.

6. From the Format menu, choose Style. Select the Locked check box.

7. From the Options menu, choose Protect Data.

Unprotect Some of the Data:
1. Make sure Protect Data is turned off in the Options menu.

2. Select the cells to be unprotected.

3. From the Format menu, choose Style. Deselect the Locked check box.

4. From the Options menu, choose Protect Data.
