Aptiva - How to add mouse driver to AUTOEXEC.BAT

This document provides instructions on modifying the AUTOEXEC.BAT file to include support for a DOS mouse driver. This document applies to all Aptiva systems.

For PC-DOS/Windows 3.x systems:
1. From the Windows Program Manager, click "File" -> "Exit Windows", and then click "OK" when you see the message "This will end your Windows session."
2. From the Aptiva Menu, select "Go to DOS prompt."
3. At the C:\> prompt, type "e autoexec.bat" and press "Enter". The E editor will open and load the AUTOEXEC.BAT file.
4. Scroll down to the end of the file and add the following line: "c:\dos\mouse"
5.Press "F4" to save your modifications and exit the editor. The changes will take effect the next time you restart the computer.

For Windows 95 systems:
1. Click "Start" -> "Run" -> "Sysedit". The system configuration editor will open with the Autoexec.bat in the front window.
2. Scroll down to the end of the file and add the following line: "c:\windows\command\mouse"
3. Click on the "X" in the upper right-hand corner of the window to close the editor. When you asked if you want to save your changes, press "Enter" to confirm your modifications. The changes to the file will not take effect until the next time you restart the computer.
