ADVANCED CONFIGURATION AND POWER INTERFACE (ACPI) COMPLIANCE
The ThinkPad 770Z is ACPI Ready. ACPI Ready means that ACPI is not installed, but the system Hardware supports ACPI. While ACPI shows a great deal of promise for the future, there are still numerous problems affecting operation of ACPI on ThinkPad and other notebook systems. Therefore, the system comes with Windows 98 running in APM mode. When the remaining issues with ACPI are resolved, an upgrade package will be made available on the IBM Web site. The upgrade package will contain the guide of update procedures in addition to device driver updates, and BIOS updates as necessary to make ACPI work reliably.

Notes
(1) MHz only measures microprocessor internal clock speed, not application performance. Many factors affect application performance.
(2) The ThinkPad 770Z recognizes up to 320 MB of addressable memory with the new Mobile Pentium II processor at 366 MHz. 128 MB of new, fast SDRAM SO DIMM system memory (RAM) is standard. Current available memory options allow memory expansion up to 320 MB using two 128 MB SDRAM SO DIMMs in the two user accessible slots for memory expansion. On models that come standard with 128 MB of system memory, there is a 64MB SDRAM in one of the memory slots. This 64MB SDRAM would have to be removed and replaced with a 128 MB SDRAM to achieve the 320 MB maximum.
(3) GB equals one thousand million bytes and MB equals one million bytes when referring to hard disk. Accessible capacity may vary.
(4) The V.90 modems are designed to be capable of receiving data at up to 56 Kbps from a compatible service provider, and transmitting data at up to 33.6 Kbps. Public networks currently limit maximum download speeds to about 53 Kbps. Up to 14.4 Kbps for facsimile and other telephony functions. Actual speeds depend on many factors and are often less than the maximum possible.
(5) Depending on homologation by the country.
