My keyboard is producing funny characters. How do I change the keyboard layout in Windows 95?

Answer:
Follow the steps below.

If you are getting funny symbols or French character's when you type the keyboard layout may need to be changed.
Follow these steps to change the keyboard layout in Windows 95.

1. Click on "Start", select "Settings" and choose "Control Panel".
3. Double click on the "Keyboard" icon.
5. Click on the "Language" tab.
7. Now click on the "Properties" button.
9. Click on the down arrow to open the list of layouts.
11. Select "United States" from the list.
13. Click on "OK".
15. Then click on "Apply".
17. Click on "OK".
19. Close the Control Panel.
21. Click on "Start", select "Shutdown", then choose "Restart the Computer".
23. Click on "Yes".
25. When the computer restarts, the layout will be changed.
