IBM PC - Tape drive with floppy controller interferes with CD ROM software installation

Problem:
Customer was not able to successfully install Lan Requester 4.0 from Warp Connect CD in a 6586 system with Conner 800 MB Internal Travan Tape Drive installed on Floppy Drive Controller.
Symptom:
Installation of Lan Requester 4.0 from the Warp Connect CD would appear to complete successfully, but when System was rebooted the Icons for Lan Requester were not on the Desktop. Directory of the IBMLAN Sub-directory only showed one file.Lan Requester 4.0 installed successfully from diskette made from Warp CD.
Cause:
Conner Tape Drive hooked to the Floppy Controller was jumpered Hard Select for Drive 2.
Resolution:
Remove Tape Drive or Set the Drive Select jumper on the Tape Drive to Soft Select Position (Factory Default Setting). Refer customer to Tape Drive Installation Manual for Jumper Settings.
