TP 600 - Warm swapping the CD-ROM drive and the floppy drive

The following table shows what you do if you want to replace the device in the UltraslimBay or attach the diskette externally:

This table correctly states the steps for using the UltraslimBay and FDD device as shipped. You can however, set your system to automatically recognize the FDD as an external device by typing the following command at a DOS prompt: PS2 FDD EXT. You must reboot the system, but the default setting will remain permanent until you reboot with the FDD in the bay.

To remove or install a device in the UltraslimBay follow the following procedure:
1.) Enter suspend or hibernation mode, or power off you computer; then turn the computer upside down.
2.) Verify that the LED next to the latch is off (NEVER remove the bay device if the LED is illuminated).
3.) Slide the latch towards the LED.
4.) Remove the bay device currently installed and install the bay device of your choice.
