5250 Emulation Adapters - Diagnostic Codes

** Note: All of the following Codes begin with 35xx.

These codes are valid for PCMCIA, MCA, and ISA 5250 cards.

00 No error found
01 Ram test passed when card was in reset. Ram should not have responded
02 Wrap test was not run because D shell connector was not detected
04 Warp test failed most likely because Twinax cable was driving the line. The line should have been disconnected
05 Could not reset the wrap data latches
06 Wrap data latches not set during wrap test when traffice was sent out
07 A Wrap data latches set even though the wrap was not enabled
07 B Wrap data latches set even though XMIT INHIBIT transmissions were inhibited
07 C Power on Reset did not reset wrap mode
08 Duplicate Station Address most likely user selected address already in use
09 Invalid test specification make by the Diagnostic Control Program
10 Wrap Bits were not set by the poll which was just recieved
11 Read/write test of the Link TC registers passed when it should have failed in reset. The Link TC is in diagnostic mode
12 Read/write test of the Link TC register failed when it should passed on the pri. Link TC. The Link is in diagnostic mode.
13 Same as 12 except it is on the secondary Link TC
14 Did not received Station address match in Link TC status register after poll sent using diagnostic mode on primary
Link TC
15 Same as 16 except it is on the secondary Link TC
16 RAS_TP bits 7-3 are not all zero after RAS_DATA_RESET. These are Interrupt pending bits
18 6K pattern not correct after activate write on primary Link TC in diagnostic mode.
19 Same as 18 except on secondary Link TC
20 A Status not correct after activate write on primary Link TC in diagnostic mode. Looking for Station address compare and
activate processed
20 B Activate address not updated in Link TC
20 B Activate counter in Link TC not zero
21 Same as 20 except on secondary Link TC
22 Interrupt not pending after actviate write on primary Link TC in diag mode. Queue interrupt should have been
indicated.
23 Same as 22 except on secondary Link TC
24 Activate write test failed on primary Link TC in diagnostic mode. Activate write is the transfer of data from host to card
memory. This transfer is simulated in diag mode. 6K bytes of data is transferred.
25 Same as 24 except on secondary Link TC.
26 Activate read test failed on the primary Link TC in diagnostic mode. Activate read is the transfer of data from card
memory to host. This transfer is simulated in diagnostic mode. 6K bytes of data is transfered
27 Same as 26 except secondary Link TC
28 Activate read test failed on primary Link Tc in diag mode. Failed after read test completed
28 status not station address compare and activate processed.
28 Activate address not pointing to next address next byte after transfer
28 Activate counter not set to zero
29 Same as 28 except on secondary Link TC
30 Activate did not enable after attempting to enable activate during a read activate simulation. This is on the primary Link
TC in diagnostic mode simulation
31 Same as 30 except on the secondary Link TC
32 A Responded to a Poll with 'Power On Transistion'. The host should send Set Mode command. Did not receive any
response or received the wrong response from the host system. The primary Link TC was used. This is a ON-LINE
test.
32 B Wrong or missing queue load in diagnostic mode during Queue Load test
33 Same as 32 except on secondary Link TC
34 A Queue Activity and Station Address compare in Link TC status register not correct
34 B Command Counter not zero
35 Same as 34 but on secondary station address
36 General Purpose counter register R/W test failed on the primary station address
37 Same as 36 except on the secondary station address
38 General Purpose counter out of tolerance on Primary station Address
39 Same as 38 but on secondary station address
40 Timed out waiting for a poll from the host system.
44 A Failded to capture simulated Quiesce Patter and Code Violation to the Twinax transmitted by the primary Link TC to
the Twinax.
44 B Failed to capture simulated data transmission to the Twinax from the Link TC
45 Same as 44 except on secondary Link TC.
46 A Timed out waiting for GPC counters to count down
46 B Disabled INT level 0 interrupted anyway.
46 C Disabled INT level 0 interrupted anyway.
47 A Timed out waiting for the 5250 Emulation card to interrupt
47 B Received the wrong interrupt from the 5250 emulation card
47 C Received an interrupt from the 5250 Emulation card when it was in reset.
48 Wrap mode and XMIT ENABLE with transmission enabled failed to set wrap data latches during the wrap test.
50 Link TC status register not all zeroes after card reset.. This is on the primary Link TC
51 Same as 50 except on secondary Link TC
53 Card I/O ports responded when doing a memory operation not an I/O operation
55 Card tranmisssions were inhibited but card still transmitted 'Power On Transistion' to the host.
88 Presecnce test failed attempted read of RAS_ID port on card did not return DOH. Most likely the cards base port
address is incorrect. RAS_ID port address = base I/O address + 6
