TP 760E/ED/XD,765 - LCD jitters or flashes on models with XGA LCD

SYMPTOM:
The following symptoms may occur on ThinkPad 760E, ED, XD and 765D,L models with XGA LCD. The symptoms occur on the LCD only (external CRT is OK) and may occur only after the ThinkPad has warmed up. The symptoms may be aggravated by some video patterns.
1. Jitter on LCD - vertical lines / edges quickly move left and right; also, short horizontal lines may appear on the screen briefly and then disappear.
2. Flashing LCD - LCD video flashes on and then off repeatedly.
3. Blank LCD - LCD video turns off.
CONFIGURATION:
760E with XGA LCD; 760ED with XGA LCD; 760XD all; 765D all; 765L all
SOLUTION:
Replace the Video Card FRU first. If the symptom persists, replace the LCD.
