ISDN-S0 Active 2000 Adapter - Installing the adapter in a ThinkPad 770 under Windows 95

Applicable to: World-Wide

When you install the IBM ISDN-S0 Active 2000 on an IBM ThinkPad 770 under Windows 95, you may see that the adapter is not ready, (e.g., shows a yellow question mark in the CardWizard).

When you go into the properties of the card in CardWizard you get a message saying 'the card hasn't been recognized'. If you check the resources TAB, you can see the card isn't using any, and if you check in device manager the card isn't present. This happens also with the latest set of drivers.

In order to get the card recognized you must do the following:
- Select the drivers TAB in the card properties in CardWizard.
- Select: change card driver.
- Select: use plug and play mode (as opposed to CardSoft mode).
- Select okay, you will then be prompted to remove and re-insert the card.
- After you do so, the Windows 95 PCMCIA manager takes control of the card, and installs the drivers.

The card is now recognized and ready in CardWizard, and present in device manager.
