IBM Monitors - PS/2 laptops - External connection produces image distortion (EMEA Only)
Applicable to: EMEA
Symptom:
An image shadow symptom may appear on 8518 front of screen when the monitor is connected externally to an 8543 mobile system. This will be prevalent using black text on a white background or white text on a black background if the raster is turned up fully.
Problem Isolation Aids:
The problem is only associated with the following 8543 system boards:
1. P/N 95F6794
2. P/N 8123176
Fix:
Due to the 8543 being at the end of its production life and the subsequent shortage of correct level system boards in EMEA any new boards should be ordered from Mechanicsburg. The correct FRU to order is 54G0860.
