Home Director Professional - Unusual beeps

Symptom:
Getting unusual beeps.

Explanation:
Normal Uninteruptable Power Supply (UPS) activity is indicated by an occasional beep. Other beep symptoms may also be observed:

• If the UPS is working on battery power (AC power outage), 4 beeps will be heard every 30 seconds.
• If during power up, the UPS's battery fails a self test the UPS emits short beeps for 1 min. & repeats every 5 hours.
• If the UPS has shut down because of a low UPS battery, the UPS will beep once every 4 seconds for approximately 16 seconds.

Solution:

• If other than the above beep symptoms are observed the UPS may be defective and may need to be replaced. If replacement is required normal service procedures should be used. The UPS should be returned using the established return policy.
