Aptiva - GPF's in Lotus Smartsuite after Service CD install

After applying the Aptiva Service CD, some machines with Lotus Smartsuite for Windows, Ver. 4., WordPro, 123, Approach and the SmartCenter 3.1, these applications may fail with the GPF message: "WORDPRO CAUSED A GENERAL PROTECTION FAULT IN MODULE COMPOBJ.DLL AT 0003:40AD."

This is caused by the way that the service pack alters the file COMPOBJ.DLL in the Phoenix and Windows/System directories.

Rebooting the computer with a two mouse button reboot should fix the problem. If not, the solution is to reload Lotus Smartsuite, and then reboot again. This will update all programs.

WARNING: Instructions sent with the Service CD do not advise it is necessary to retrieve all messages from Aptiva Communication Center loading/installing Service CD. Please do so or the messages will be lost.
