Aptiva-PS/1 - How do I "write protect" a diskette?
Applicable to: United States
Most diskettes have a plastic tab in the lower corner. This is the "write protect" tab. To write protect your diskette, move the tab so that the little window is open. This prevents you from writing to and erasing from the diskette. With the write-protect tab set, information can still be read from the diskette. To allow writing to or erasing from the diskette, just slide the plastic tab so that the little window is closed. On high density diskettes, there are holes on each side of the diskette. With both holes open, the diskette is write protected.
