Enhance the value of your ThinkPad 770 system with the new, high capacity ThinkPad 770 14.1GB(1) Hard Disk Drive (HDD). This is ThinkPad's highest available storage capacity and leads the industry with maximum capacity, performance, and near desktop equivalency for ThinkPad 770 users. The ThinkPad 770 14.1GB HDD is ideally suited for the large capacity demands of integrated Internet/intranet, video, and multimedia applications in today's mobile computing environment. To provide this high level of performance, IBM's 14.1GB option employs proven IBM technology. Giant magnetoresistive (GMR) advanced head technology increases area density, reducing the number of disks and heads required to provide this extreme capacity. The GMR head technology increases area density to more than 5.0 gigabits per square inch and its pico slider enables more disk surface to be read. An advanced electromechanical design reduces disk spacing, allowing five disks to be stacked in 17 mm. IBM disk drive technology enables the 14.1GB ThinkPad option to provide the exceptional capacity, performance, power management, shock resistance, and reliability required by today's premium ThinkPad users. The ThinkPad 770 14.1GB HDD can be used to replace your primary ThinkPad 770 HDD, or combined with the second HDD adapter option (11J8836), it can be used as a second drive in the ThinkPad 770 UltraBay II.
