TP 600,770/E/ED - New Easy Setup Format Utility

A new format utility has been built into Easy Setup for the 770, 770E/ED and the 600. This format utility replaces the format utility used on the Maintenance Diskette v1.40. The utility will write a zero pattern to the entire hard disk drive. It should be used to ensure that all data is erased from the drive. This utility will NOT do bad sector reassignment. The hard disk drive will reassign bad sectors automatically.
This utility will support hard drive sizes larger than 8 GB. The Maintenance Diskette v1.40 can still be used for systems with hard drives smaller
than 8 GB.
To use this utility:
1. Enter Easy Setup (Press and hold F1 during power up)
2. Select the Test icon
3. Press Ctrl+A to start the Advanced Diagnostics
4. Press Exit to clear the FRU Connection screen
5. Press Exit to clear the keyboard test
6. Press Ctrl+L to start the utility
7. Press 'Y' to start the format
Note:
This utility will be loaded on all models of the 770E/ED and 600. For the 770 models (not 770E/ED), a BIOS upgrade will be necessary to use this utility. The utility will be on BIOS versions after v1.00 when available.
