SYMPTOM:
ThinkPad 701 Multiport ECP Parallel Port not recognized after suspend
CONFIGURATION:
Any ThinkPad 701.
SOLUTION:
BIOS is not properly configuring the Super I/O chip on the MP2 after resume from hibernation. There are no planned BIOS
updates for this product.
Work-arounds
-Use Standard Parallel Port (SPP), or Enhanced Parallel Port (EPP).
-Use Parallel Port Cable(FRU 04H8359 - shipped with every 701).
-Hibernate and resume from hibernation instead of suspending.
-Hibernate and resume from hibernation if problem occurs (to reset).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
-Problem occurs on Parallel 2 or 3
-Problem only occurs when set to ECP mode (not on SPP or EPP).
-Problem only occurs on when MultiPort2 parallel port(does not occur on Parallel/Diskette Port).
-If problem occurs, can hibernate and resume from hibernation to fix.
