Aptiva - Problems with Canon BJC-610 printers and Aptivas with Windows 95.

For those who have bought BJC-610 printers, you might have been told that the drivers that were shipped should be used when installing printer drivers on Windows 95 systems. While it is true the printer side of this works fine, it causes problems with MS Works 4.0. After installing this driver MS Works 4.0 spreadsheet functions error out on entry with an ILLEGAL OPERATION message, then crashes MS Works. If the driver is deleted from the installed printers, MS Works returns to normal operation.
A solution for this problem is to install the Windows 95 provided driver for the BJC-600E printer native to Windows 95. This allows the printer to function properly while not interfering with MS Works 4.0.
