Print to MS Fax printer results in game unresponsive.
Detail:
If you print from Number Heroes to a FAX Printer driver, errors occur, plus the FAX program AND Number Heroes will 'fight' for system focus on the screen making both program unresponsive. Only way to get out of the problem is to CTRL-ALT-DEL and END TASK either the FAX application, or Number Heroes.
Steps to Recreation:
1. Make Microsoft Fax the default printer. You can do this by clicking on Start -> Settings -> Printers, right mouse clicking on Microsoft Fax and clicking "Set as Default".
2. Install Mighty Math Number Heroes. Now, attempt to play.
3. Choose "Guest" as your name by double clicking on "Guest.".
4. Select "Geo Computer," the robot that is flying in the top right corner. A game board should appear with dots on it.
5. Look at the pictures and icons in the left panel. Click on the print icon.
6. Focus will go to the MS Fax Wizard then come back to the game. At this point the user cannot continue with the game because all input has to go to the MS Fax Wizard. The only way around this is to press Ctrl-Esc or the windows button on the keyboard, select "Inbox setup wizard" and proceed with the fax.
Answer / Workaround:
This is a limitation of the print function in Number Heroes. The print function has been disabled by default, however, the users have the option of changing it in the 'preferences'. This will occur when printing to either Ring Central fax, Microsoft Fax, or any other FAX DRIVER. Once the problem has occurred, the only way to escape the loop is to either press ALT-TAB to get Ring Central focus long enough for you to Close it down, OR, you can use CTRL-ALT-DEL and END TASK for the FAX application or Number Heros.
