Rapid Access Keyboard - Cannot select which CD-ROM drive to play
Applicable to: AP-S, Canada, EMEA, United States
Symptom:
Using the Rapid Access Keyboard the CD-ROM drive to play cannot be selected.
Explanation:
The Rapid Access Keyboard does not have the capability to control or selectively choose which CD-ROM drive is used. The CD-ROM drive with the higher priority status on the IDE bus will be the one that is activated by the button.
Solution:
The drive that is to be selectable by the keyboard, such as the audio CD-ROM drive, should be pin-selected to be the primary on the secondary IDE controller and the other drive, such as a high speed CD-ROM drive, should be secondary on the secondary IDE controller. The operating system will boot and find the audio CD-ROM to be the "D:>" drive and be selected by the Rapid Access Keyboard's CD-ROM button.
