Aptiva - 2158/2163/2164 Considerations - Rapid Access Keyboard and DOS games
Applicable to: World-Wide
Symptom:
System "hangs" when running the DOS Edmark games in a DOS window and adjusting the volume control on the Rapid Access Keyboard. You lose video but can recover by moving the mouse or hitting the keyboard. These systems do not support audio control in DOS and, that Windows will try to get focus if you change anything on the screen. Some games like Doom flip to the Windows and back again without hanging.
Workaround:
Select "disable OSD" in the Rapid Access Keyboard control panel preferences.
