Color Flatbed Scanner - "Internal Error" message received in Xerox Pagis SE

Applicable to: World-Wide

Symptom:
The error, "An internal error has occurred" is displayed.

Environment:

• Windows 95 or Windows NT
• Xerox Pagis SE version 1.0
• Scanner Setup version 1.02 or later

Problem Recreation:

1. Select "SCAN" from the Pagis Scan Tool.
2. Select "Any Document" or "Magazine Article" as the page type.
3. After the second scan pass, a pop-up dialogue box appears with the message "An internal error has occurred."
4. No image shows up in the Pagis Scan Tool Window.
5. The only recourse for the user is to select "OK".

Temporary Solution:
Change page type to "Photograph" or "Letter".

Permanent Solution:
Install the scanner update titled "IBM Scanner Update Version P002" that was provided with the IBM Color Flatbed Scanner. Click here for the file - . The file can also be obtained from the IBM BBS at 1-919-517-0001 (enter country code).

Verification:
The scanner update replaces the file, "XSCAN32.DAT". To verify that the update has been installed correctly, check the size and date of the file.
