PC Server 300 - Installing OS/2 Warp v3 from CD-ROM
Applicable to: World-Wide
Symptom
After inserting Diskette 1 you see a red screen stating that no CD-ROM drives can be found while Installing OS/2 Warp v3 from CD-ROM. The CD-ROM is attached to the IBM PCI Controller.
Problem Isolation Aids
The OS/2 Warp v3 diskettes do not have drivers for the PC Server 300 as standard. You will need to add these manually
Resolution
1. Make a copy of the OS/2 Warp Diskette 1. Label it "OS/2 Warp v3 Diskette 1 for PC Server 300."
2. Copy the IBMPSCSI.ADD from the "IBM PCI Fast SCSI-2 Support Diskette" (ships with the machine) to your "OS/2 Warp v3 Diskette 1 for PC Server 300". If there is not enough space to copy IBMPSCSI.ADD remove the AHA*.* files (for Adaptec controllers).
3. Edit the CONFIG.SYS of your new Diskette 1.
Add the line: basedev=ibmpscsi.add before the IBMINT13.I13.
Remove the AHA*.* lines.
Save and exit.
4. Re-boot the machine with the Installation Diskette. Insert Diskette 1 "OS/2 Warp v3 Diskette 1 for PC Server 300" when prompted.
