Aptiva - ATI Video Problems with Games

Problem:
Customer has trouble running games by Lucasarts on her system. Customer called Lucasarts for a solution and they told her there were about 25 games that were having problems with the new ATI drivers. Customer is getting DING.DLL errors in game.
Solution:
To fix the error you have to edit the SYSTEM.INI file and add the line STRETCHENGINE=0 to the display section. There is currently nothing in this section. Reboot the system and then the game works fine. According to Lucasarts, some of the other games affected are; SpyCraft, PBA Bowling by Bethesda Software, Afterlife, Heroes of Might, Magic by New World Computing, King Quest 6, and Robert E. Lee's Civil War by Sierra.
