Patch for Mwave equipped ThinkPads 755 and 760 ============================================== This patch is intended to fix the following problems: Experiencing system lockups when hanging up the modem. Noticing the Windows message "MMTASK task [not responding]" after using the modem. This patch is intended for limited distribution to IBM customers. It has received only limited testing before release by IBM, therefore it is suggested that any critical data on your hard drive be backed up before applying it. This patch will become obsolete with the next release of Mwave code. Patch Scope =========== This patch is intended for Mwave version 2.25 or 2.25a running under Windows 95 or Windows 98. Patch Contents ============== MWMLOADW.DLL 291,872 03-26-98 2:37pm Installation Related Files ========================== INSTALL.EXE INSTALL.MSG INSTALL.DAT README.TXT Patch Prerequisites =================== Mwave version 2.25 or 2.25a must be loaded on your computer running under Windows 95, or Mwave version 2.25a must be loaded on your computer running under Windows 98. Patch Instructions ================== 1. Open a Windows DOS box by clicking on Start ==> Programs ==> MS DOS Prompt. 2. Change to the directory where you downloaded the file. Type in mwmmtask and press enter to extract the zipped files. 4. Type install and press enter to begin the installation process. 3. Install will try to locate all of Mwave. If everything is not found (probably because you used directory names other than the Mwave default ones, or because Mwave exists on another drive) it does not matter. The ONLY directory that has to be located is the Mwave Windows Directory (MWW). If the directory found is incorrect, then reply "no" when install asks if everything is correct. Install will then prompt you to type in the correct path name 4. Reboot the system for the patch to take effect.
