Aptiva - How to install Generic HP DeskJet as default printer in Windows 95
Applicable to: World-Wide
1. Click on "Start", "Settings", "Printers".
2. Double-click on "Add Printer" icon. Click "Next" button.
3. Make sure "Local Printer" is selected and Click "Next" button.
4. In left box, drag slider down and select "HP".
5. In right box, make sure that "HP DeskJet" is selected. This is the first one and has no model numbers after it. Click "Next" button.
6. Make sure that LPT1 is selected and click "Next" button.
7. The next screen will have the printer name and an option to make this printer the default printer. Make sure that the 'Yes' option is selected. Click "Next" button.
8. If you wish to print a test page, select "Yes" option. Click "Finish" button.
9. You will be asked if test page printed OK. You will then be returned to the "Printers" window where you can find the icon for the newly installed printer.
