Applicable to: World-Wide

The following article pertains to the following models and similar ones worldwide:

US - Desktop models: 2144-Axx

US - Minitower models: 2168-Axx

BIOS stands for Basic Input/Output System. The BIOS is programming that controls the basic hardware operations. This includes interactions with diskette drives, fixed disk drives, and the keyboard. It cannot be modified by the user.

The above models have what is called a FLASH BIOS. A FLASH BIOS is a BIOS that can be updated by a software update (provided by IBM ). This is opposed to having a BIOS chip that would have to be physically removed and replaced with another chip to be updated.

Currently there is a BIOS update for the above models. The filename is ODYFLASH.EXE. To download the BIOS update, click here -
