Aptiva - Ring Central Quickfax issues

Symptom:
Ring Central's quick fax allows for 72 characters on a line but only sends 55. This can also be seen in the fax preview.
Solution:
In Windows 95 Display Properties, in the 'settings' tab, change the font size to use 'small fonts'.
Reason:
When Windows 95 is using 'Large fonts' in the display settings, what the user sees on the screen isn't always a true representation of what the word processor is typing.
Symptom:
If the user has a 2-line address entered in the ring central set up, the second line of the sender's address is overwritten by the state/province when using the 'contemporary' Cover page.
Solution:
- Click on 'start','run' then type 'C:\rc500\faxcover.ini' in the dialog box and click 'OK'. This will open the .INI file in the Windows editor.
- Click on 'Search' then 'Find' from the editor's tool bar.
- Type 'contemporary' then click 'Find Next'
- Locate the following 2 lines:
Record17=FROM_LASTNAME Text Courier 12 Bold 0 0 0 1117 706 0 0
and
Record21=FROM_ADDITIONAL Text Courier 12 Bold 0 0 0 1117 764 0 0
- Change Record17=FROM_LASTNAME Text Courier 12 Bold 0 0 0 1117 706 0 0
to read: Record17=FROM_LASTNAME Text Courier 12 Bold 0 0 0 1117 716 0 0
this is just a slight cosmetic change to place the 2-line address on the cover page more appropriately.

- Change Record21=FROM_ADDITIONAL Text Courier 12 Bold 0 0 0 1117 764 0 0
to read: Record21=FROM_ADDITIONAL Text Courier 12 Bold 0 0 0 1117 814 0 0
This will shift the location of the state/province down to the next line on the cover sheet.
- Click on the X in the upper right hand corner to close the edit window, then click on 'yes' to save the file.
The cover sheet will function properly the next time it is used.
Reason:
The numbers at the end of the lines above are graphic address locations. With the original setting, the address is written in such a manner that it may not be legible. Changing the address locations for the text makes the cover sheet more presentable.
