9516 TFT LCD Color Monitor - Screen Flickers Under Windows NT 3.51 and 4.0

Applicable to: United States

Symptom:
Screen flickers displaying a cross-hatch background pattern.

Environment:

• Windows NT 3.51 and 4.0.
• 9516 display with resolution set at 1280x1024 60 Hz., 256 colors
• MicroSoft Word

Note: This problem does not occur with an ATI video card or when using MicroSoft Office 97.

Resolution:
To adjust the monitor using the AutoSetup Procedure:

1. Invoke the onscreen menu by pressing both the down arrow keys simultaneously.
2. Choose AUTOSETUP: READY.
3. From Explorer, run the 9516 Windows setup program. The monitor will perform self-adjustments while it attempts to find the best settings.
4. Once complete, press ALT + F4 to exit the setup application.
5. Clear the onscreen menu by pressing both down arrow keys simultaneously.
6. Verify that the new settings have corrected the flickering problem within MicroSoft Word. If the background cross-hatch pattern is still flickering, you will need to adjust the monitor manually.
7. Once you have the settings for one workstation, you should record the numbers shown and set any additional monitors accordingly. This will be much quicker than going though the autosetup procedure on each display.
