Aptiva - 2144/2168 (SL-H) Considerations: Descent gets "stuck" waiting for Phone Center to close
Applicable to: World-Wide
Situation:
In Windows, if the Communication Center is running when attempting to launch Descent, the system will lock.
Reason:
The modem is not being shutdown when the NOWARP.EXE is being launched. As a result, Descent is left waiting along with the rest of the system.
Response to customer:
Development has released a fix. There is a new version of NOWARP.EXE included in MFIX.EXE available on the CoSession systems, the BBS, and the electronic file libraries on the World Wide Web. This problem only affects systems that are SYSLEVEL BRWWXUS. The fix was incorporated into the BRWWYUS load. To see if a customer needs this fix (or any of the other fixes for BRWWXUS), do the following to determine the SYSLEVEL :
C:\> Type SYSLEVEL.IBM "ENTER"
