Aptiva-PS/1 - Do my diskettes need to be formatted before I backup?

No. The backup option will automatically format your diskettes before the backup procedure begins. Make sure that you are using 2.0 MB diskettes, as this process will automatically format your diskette as 2.0 MB. If you use 1.0 MB diskettes, and they are formatted as 2.0 MB diskettes, you may experience a loss of data.
After a diskette is formatted, you may be prompted for a volume label. At this point you can enter an eight character name for your diskette or press [ENTER] and your diskette will not have a volume label.
