3270 Emulation Credit Card Adapter - Installing the card under Windows 95 OSR2

This document covers the installation of the IBM 3270 PCMCIA card (Marketing Part Number 0933315) in Microsoft OSR2 version of Windows 95. OSR2 can now be found on the IBM 365X,365XD, 760E, 760ED, and will be on the TP 760X series.
IBM Personal Communications will be able to find the 3270 card no matter where the IBM3270.inf puts it. However, other packages such as Attachmate for 95 and IRMA mainframe for 95 still have the rigid resource recognition for the PCMCIA 3270 card.
Traditional PCMCIA 3270 settings:
I/O: 2D0-2DF
IRQ: 9
Memory: CE00-CFFF
The ibm3270.inf puts resources at the next available block of resources and Personal Communications uses the Windows 95 interface to find the card. Other company's software still supports direct access.
Problem:
Card appears at random resources like IRQ 15, IRQ 10 and other unusable resources.
Solution:
1.Go to device manager.
2.Go into "other devices".
3.Select the "IBM 3270 PCMCIA Credit Card Adapter".
4.Click on the properties button.
5.Under Device Usage - take check out of "Exist in all Hardware Profiles".
6.Place a check in "Disable in this Hardware Profile".
7.Then click on OK.. now the 3270 credit card adapter has been disabled".
8.Go back into the properties of the modem.
9.Go to the "Resources" tab at the top.
10.Uncheck "use automatic settings".
11.Select I/O address and a dialog box will appear that will allow you to change resources.
12.change it to 2d0-2df.
13.select the IRQ and change it to IRQ 9.
14.select memory and change it to CE00-CFFF.
15.Then select OK.
16.After this you must reenable the device.. go into the properties again.
17.Under Device Usage.. place check back on "Exists in all Hardware Profiles".
18.Take check out of "Disable in this Hardware Profile".
19.This should work with most current offerings ( i.e. no resource conflicts ).
You should be able to use Attachmate or any other software that requires direct access.
