Network Station - AIX (bootp) replacing one Network Station with another Network Station
Applicable to: World-Wide
When you replace one Network Station with another one, there are changes that must be made since the new Network Station has a different MAC address:
1. Boot Network Station
2. esc after memory and device checks
3. F2 to view hardware configuration (this will give you the MAC address)
4. On the Server- smitty ->devices ->bootp devices (edit old bootp device with new IP and MAC address)
5. On the Network Station, if using NVRAM then F3 to set IP addresses
8. Boot Network Station
