TP 770 - Receive error message "could not read from file xxx" when installing Microsoft Office or Microsoft Project 98

SYMPTOM:
When attempting to install from a Microsoft Office or Project 98 CD in the DVD drive, the message "could not read from file xxx" is displayed after the install program starts copying files from the CD.
CONFIGURATION:
Thinkpad 770 series using the DVD drive to install Microsoft Office or Microsoft Project 98.
SOLUTION:
Disable Norton Antivirus before beginning the installation process.
