TP 770 - Microphone Recording volume setup

Microphone Setup
For optimum microphone performance while recording voice, or using telephony applications with your ThinkPad, please follow the steps below to set the audio and microphone properties.
Your ThinkPad 770 comes with Voyetra AudioStation pre-installed on the hard disk drive. There is an audio icon on the lower right hand corner of the Windows Start Menu Toolbar. If the audio icon on the Start Menu toolbar looks like this; , you can start with the "Audio Properties" section below. If the audio icon on the Start Menu toolbar looks like this; , Voyetra AudioStation is the default audio controller and you must first perform the following steps:
1) With your left mouse button, click on the "Start" button located in the bottom left hand corner of the Windows desktop.
2) Left click on "Settings", then "Control Panel."
3) Double click on "Multimedia.
4) Under the "Audio" tab, in the "Playback" section, ensure that the box in front of the "Show volume control on the taskbar" is checked.
5) Click on "OK."
6) Continue with the "Audio Properties" section below.
Audio Properties
1) Right click on the yellow speaker icon located on the lower right corner of the Windows Start Menu Toolbar.
2) Left click on "Adjust Audio Properties."
3) Under "Preferred Quality", left click on the pulldown menu arrow, and select "CD Quality."
4) Under the "Recording" section. set the volume to a medium/high level (recommend high).
5) Click on "OK" to close.
Microphone Properties
1) Right click on the yellow speaker icon located on the lower right corner of the Windows Start Menu Toolbar.
2) Left click on "Open Volume Controls".
3) On the "Master Out" audio panel, select "Options".
4) Select "Properties", and ensure that "Mic" is selected under Show the following volume controls.
5) Click on "OK".
6) On the "Master Out" audio panel, set the Mic volume control to the medium/high level (recommend high).
7) Select "Options", then select "properties."
8) Under "Adjust volume for", select "Recording", then click "OK".
9) On the "Master Record" audio panel, set the Mic volume control to the medium/high level (recommend high).
10) Click on the "X" in the upper right corner of "Master Record" to exit.
