TP General - Cannot configure IBM Wave Runner PC Card under Windows 95

SYMPTOM:
When running the setup program for the IBM Wave Runner PC Card (P/N 85H4019), after it restarts the computer you receive the following error message:
Windows was unable to add this modem [OK]
CONFIGURATION:
Any ThinkPad running Windows 95 using CardWizard for PCMCIA support.
SOLUTION:
Environment: Wave Runner has never been inserted in the ThinkPad
1) In this situation SystemSoft CardWizard must be configured to allow the Windows/95 plug-and-play process to install the Wave Runner
2) Insert the Wave Runner PC Card into the ThinkPad.
3) When the SystemSoft CardWizard SELECT INSTALLATION PREFERENCE window appears select the USE CARDSOFT MODE option and click on OK.
4) SystemSoft CardWizard messages and windows may briefly appear.
5) Select the VIEW menu option and then select the PROPERTIES option on the drop down menu.
6) Select the DRIVERS tab.
7) Select the CHANGE CARD DRIVER option and the USE PLUG AND PLAY option and then select OK.
8) A CardWizard message should appear with instruction on removing re-installing the card. Select OK for this message.
9) Close the SystemsSoft CardWizard window.
10) Remove the Wave Runner card.
11) Run the SETUP.EXE on the Wave Runner installation diskette #1 or the SETUP.EXE on the CD-ROM in the \win95\install\pcmcia\english subdirectory.
12 ) Follow the instructions on the Wave Runner Installation window which should instruct you to insert the Wave Runner card.
13) The Windows 95 UPDATE DEVICE DRIVER WIZARD window should appear. Follow the instructions that appear in the Wizard and the Wave Runner Installation window.
Environment: Wave Runner has previously been inserted in the ThinkPad and installation has been attempted without success.
1) In this situation an entry has been made in the Windows Registry about Wave Runner and CardWizard and that entry must be set to the correct value.
2) Remove the Wave Runner PC Card.
3) RUN the WRUNINST.EXE program located on installation diskette #1 or on the CD-ROM in the \win95\install\pcmcia\english subdirectory. This should remove all Wave Runner files and certain registry entries.
4) Restart Windows/95
5) When the SystemSoft CardWizard SELECT INSTALLATION PREFERENCE window appears select the USE CARDSOFT MODE option and click on OK.
