Aptiva - 2142 Re-installing the DVD drivers

Question:
How do I re-install the DVD drivers on my Aptiva 2142-S62/S6H/S6S?
Answer:
You can use these steps to re-install the DVD CD-ROM drivers in case you suspect the drivers have become corrupted or if
you get an error message indicating the DVD drivers are not installed.
1. Open the "MY COMPUTER" icon.
2. Double-click on the "C" drive icon.
3. Find the "WINDOWS" folder and open it.
4. Find the "OPTIONS" folder and open it.
5. Find the "CABS" folder and open it.
6. Locate the "STBDVD.INF" file and right-click on it.
7. Select "INSTALL" from the menu.
8. This will copy the DVD driver files from the C:\WINDOWS\OPTIONS\CABS folder to the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM folder.
9. Click on "START", choose "SHUTDOWN", click on "RESTART", and choose "YES".
10. When the system restarts the DVD drivers will be re-installed.
