Aptiva - Proposed responses in a Works for Windows database

By entering a formula in the Microsoft Works for Windows Database, you can create a proposed response -- a default value for that field.
This is used most often when you have fields in the database in which the information usually remains the same (such as city, state or zip code.), and you don't want to type the information repeatedly.
Works for Windows
To create a proposed response, do the following:
1.) Select the field where the item is to appear.
2.) Type an equal sign followed by a double quotation mark and the text you want.
For example, type the following in the City field to make Charlotte the default city:
="Charlotte
Works will fill the field for you. To enter a different city, highlight the field and type over the proposed text.
